Teen Poetry Slam Champs: Showcase and Fundraiser

This summer, the teen poets representing Urban Word NYC took the national title at the Brave New Voices International Teen Poetry Slam in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by rapper Common and actor Rosario Dawson, and filmed for an HBO special in front of an audience of thousands.

On WED. AUG. 11, from 6-8PM, The Point CDC in the Bronx will host a celebration and showcase of these award-winning poets. Furthermore, funds raised from the event will help support Urban Word NYC free after school writing and college prep workshops at The Point. You will be entertained, encouraged, and inspired, so seize this opportunity to help us create opportunities!!!
