New York Photo Festival deliver[s] a dynamic, high-quality event in what is arguably the photographic capital of the world.

The New York Photo Festival is located in one of New York’s hippest spots, DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). Only one stop away from Manhattan, this idyllic district harkens back to the turn of the 20th Century New York, with its cobblestone streets, converted warehouse, cafes, small bakeries, hip boutiques and some of the most dramatic views of the city (think Woody Allen’s “Manhattan”)."

Man in the Mirror: Michael Jackson
An icon raised in the spotlight, but ever reclusive and terribly shy, Jackson was the ideal subject for paparazzo extraordinaire Ron Galella, the nation’s most famous celebrity photojournalist. Galella shot Michael from his early days in the Jackson 5 right up to the weeks before his untimely death. Finding intimate moments with the legend offstage, he captured candid, beautiful, unguarded portraits of the man behind the mask and a lifetime of style and glamour.

In a tribute to the life and memory of Michael Jackson, Galella has compiled his comprehensive body of images of the King of Pop for the first time ever in Man in the Mirror: Michael Jackson.

Thursday, Jan 21: Graffiti Book Launch Party

This classic, definitive look at the birth of graffiti pairs Norman Mailer's fascinating 1974 essay with the internationally acclaimed Jon Naar's stunning photography. At this event, Jon Naar will present a slideshow of his photographs followed by a panel discussion on the topic of "Graffiti: Keeping the Faith! How one book challenged and changed the dialogue about the role of art in our society," with photographer Jon Naar, graffiti writer Chris Pape (a.k.a. Freedom) and Wicked Gary. Refreshments will be provided compliments of Bear Flag.
