Saturday, Aug 14: The Stoop, Annual Free Community Hip-Hop Festival

F.O.K.U.S. PRESENTS THE STOOP 2010 ON AUGUST 14, 2010 IN FORT GREENE PARK, BROOKLYN, NY

Brooklyn, NY – Stoops are known for being a common meeting ground for people to share stories and relax. With this in mind, F.O.K.U.S. designed The Stoop, its annual summer arts event, to serve as the artistic physical crossroads between individuals, communities and their respective artistic experiences. F.O.K.U.S. will produce the third annual event- The Stoop - in Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn, NY on August 14, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m (rain or shine).

The Stoop is a free outdoor community gathering to celebrate the arts and healthy living. This year will feature performances by artists of various genres and promises to be a fantastic and unique addition to NY’s roster of summer events. The exciting and unique line-up includes: Si*Se, Pattern Is Movement, Kagero, Ayodele Alli, and Ishmael Islam. There will also be live art, face painting, games and an array of fun games for the entire family. Invited artists include Convoluted Construct, Alice Mizrachi and Free5. We will also have StoryCorps and The Icla da Silva Foundation, and other organizations at the event for you to interact and learn about their unique opportunities. Invited organizations include: Urban Art Beat, Black Teen Empowerment Movement, YOUNITY, SohNup, LIFEbeat, Brooklyn Salsa Dance Party, Metro Hospital.
