Sunday, May 30: Haitian Parade and Festival on Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, NYC

"May has great historical and cultural traditions that all Haitians are proud to make others aware of and to pass on to future generations. It is in that spirit that the Haitian Day Parade & HaitianSpringFest always closed the month for the past eight years. This celebration incorporates a Haitian patriotic theme into an exciting day of cultural activities including food, musical entertainment, floats with beautiful queens and princesses and much more in the parade/ Festival. Smiling families dine at sidewalk cafes. The air is filled with music, laughter, and the tempting aromas of Haitian cuisine. Surely, this must be Haiti? Actually, it is the HaitianSpringFest in Brooklyn, Nostrand Avenue (Little Haiti). C est reellement magnifique!

The HaitianSpringFest closes with a spectacular musical performance by T-Vice which is back by popular demand, the best mini-jazz in the Haitian community. This event is the largest gathering in the Tri-State area of the said population. Tens of thousands of people attend every year. This Parade / Festival is dedicated to preserving Haitian heritage and culture. This one of a kind free ethnic Spring Festival & Parade does not deserve to be missed."
