The Ailey Extension Host 'Ladies Get Down' Workshop, 3/27 & 3/28The Ailey Extension and E.D. Entertainment in association with Divine Rhythm Productions, is proud to present Ladies Get Down (LGD), an event created by hip hop's well-known and respected, Robin Dunn (E.D. Entertainment) celebrating women in hip hop, on Saturday, March 27 from 5pm - 9:30pm and Sunday, March 28 from 2pm - 9pm.
In honor of Women's History Month, the event will feature 8 dance workshop classes taught by New York's top female hip-hop artists, including Robin Dunn, Violeta Galagarza, Kim Holmes, Honey Rockwell, Miriam Morgan, Marjory Smarth, Snapshot & Wandeepop and Tweetie, and will take place at The Ailey Studios located at The Joan Weill Center for Dance (405 West 55th Street at 9th Avenue).
The first annual LGD Salute Awards Presentation and Open Cypher on Sunday, March 28th will pay homage to women who have contributed to the proliferation of hip hop dance and culture working as artists, performers and community leaders. There will be special guests and honorary performances in addition to a Cypher where these amazing women will have the opportunity to show off their skills. Participation by both men and women of all ages and levels is highly encouraged!"
