Does the Blogosphere Really Need Another Blog?

Yes, yes it does. Or at least, I do*. Nothing on this blog will be top secret info. I don't get insider tips to the hottest happenings. But I do pay attention. I do my research. And this blog is here to serve simply as a gathering place for the many fascinating, eclectic events poppin' off in New York City every week. Hopefully it'll make it easier for people like you and me to have a good time.

For a little over a year now, I've subscribed to mailing lists, and bookmarked and followed select blogs and websites so that I'd know what was poppin' and be able to hit it up solo or with a few friends. Sometimes I'd post on Facebook or Twitter, or send out texts or emails to spread the word, but none of this really did the city justice. This blog sets out to do the city - and it's faithful residents and visitors - justice, by gathering and showing some of the most exciting events it has to offer. This is a collection of hip-hop, social justice, and arts events (with a focus on free and cheap!), all in one place. Because those are my favorite things.
